Born in 1973 in Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of Congo), Zemba Luzamba (Lutanda) studied in an art school before to leave his native country for studying in a business and art school of Lusaka (Zambia). In 2000 he decides to practice its art in South-Africa. Zemba’s particular technique of painting brings in front of the spectator scenes and persons being out of any geographical reference point and out of any temporal reference point. However the paintings are extremely realistic. This contradiction puts the viewer in a kind of perplexity, there is no place for a comment, or rather : the viewer brings himself its comment about what he is seeing. Zemba is a Master : its non suggesting artworks are opening breaches for reflective spaces. Zemba’s artworks have been exhibited in the main capitals of Europe, as well as in Africa.
