Self-proclaimed as « Minister of Garbage », Botalatala creates artworks from waste, which he turns into beautiful narrative compositions on wooden panels or cardboards. As Botalatala expresses : « I am running after the actuality », but in reality he is preceding it. By analyzing the current events, Botalatala depicts the becoming of the world into his artworks. The city of Kinshasa vomits its trash but for Botalatala every object thrown away has the potential to tell a story and outlines the debate in which the tormented citizen Minister creates hope by shouting out loud and leading us to a wake-up call. Botalatala has exhibited in DRC, Belgium and England. Moreover several of his works have been auctioned. A movie dedicated to his life and his work will be released end of 2016.
