Being the son of an antiquarian, Francklin Mbungu started his career as agent for Congolese painters. After, he decided to become artist himself. Far away from the traditional Congolese popular painting, Francklin uses scissors and glue to create surprising paper cut-outs of all sorts of colors in which figures, flowers, objects emerge to tell a story. Francklin Mbungu lives and works in DR Congo.
